COVID-19 & Your Session

We currently ARE scheduling sessions. In response to the current COVID-19 situation we have adjusted procedures for your pre-session consultation and ordering sessions.  We offer the option of Zoom or In Person consultations depending on your comfort level.  During your session, we will make every effort to maintain a 6 foot distance and adhere to local COVID-19 guidelines.

Before your Session

What is a pre-session consultation?

Before your session, we’ll meet for about 30 minutes to discuss location, props, outfits, themes, styles and other creative ideas. We love to hear any specifics you desire and how we can make your creative ideas a reality.

We encourage you to create a Pinterest Board of looks and styles you like to review at your session.

When do I pay my session fee?

The session fee is due in full at the time of booking and this payment will hold your session time and date. This fee is non-refundable.

What does my session fee cover?

The session fee is a retainer that holds your session time and date. It also includes the session time, the photographer’s creative fees and artistic talent.

During your Session

What should we wear?

It’s important to learn how to dress for your body type and remember that everyone’s outfits do not need to be the same color. In fact, it is preferable that you choose a color family and dress everyone in tones within that family. For fall you could choose browns and oranges and for winter you could choose navy blue and red. Accessories are what truly make the outfits so get creative with scarves, boots, hats and jewelry.

Is there a time limit for my portrait session?

No, there is not a time limit for your portrait photography session. However, we will need to know how much time to dedicate to you on the day of your photo shoot. The average portrait session takes  approximately an hour to 90 minutes.

Where will we meet?

There are endless beautiful places in Albuquerque and the surrounding area. When we meet for our pre-portrait consultation, we’ll discuss the various locations available and help you choose a location that best suits your style. Travel fees may apply.

Do you have a studio location?

YES!  Our spacious studio is located near the Albuquerque Uptown area.  We are open by appointment only, call for more details on our Studio Sessions.

How many pictures do you take?

We never count!  You will always have two photographers that provide you different perspectives.  We both shoot with professional Canon digital cameras which mean there is no limit on the number of photos we shoot during a session.  Before we deliver your photos, we ensure we remove any photo that include test shots, closed eyes, duplicates, etc.  We then edit the images for color, exposure and sharpness.

After your Session

What is an ordering session?

We will schedule time to meet at our studio or, if you prefer, schedule a Zoom meeting at a time that is convenient to you to view your final images in a personalized gallery .  Once you have seen your images, we will guide you through the ordering process, showing you samples and helping you choose which prints to order, what sizes will display best in your home and help you stay within your budget to get the most out of your investment.

Do we have to order at the time of our ordering session?

Yes, all orders must be placed at the time of your ordering session. However, if you do not place your order at that time and wish to set up an additional ordering session, you may do so for an additional fee. For this reason, we ask that all decision makers attend your ordering session.

How much are your packages?

We have several package options to fit your needs. We believe in providing the absolute best quality prints and products that will last beyond your lifetime.  Our portrait and senior packages start at $1200.  The average investment is between $1500-$2400.

When will we get our pictures?

Your ordering session will be scheduled about two weeks after your photo session.  Once you have decided which prints you love, we will customize a package to meet your needs and send your order to our lab for fulfillment.  Depending on your final selections, your order will arrive within 2-3 weeks.  We will call you to pick up your order at our studio or we can hand deliver them to you if you are located in the Albuquerque/Rio Rancho area.

Can I get the digital files from my session?

We strongly believe that photographs are meant to be enjoyed as art on the walls of every family’s home. For most families, it is more cost effective (and better in so many other ways as well) to purchase prints rather than digital files, unless they need to create large quantities of the same print. We understand that there are rare occasions when a digital file may be preferred.  We provide a full resolution digital download with every print purchased.

We archive every print you purchase and you will be able to see how everything will look before you place your order. It is, hands down, the best experience around, and guarantees the preservation of your photographs in a tangible and timeless way that your family will enjoy for many years.

What If's

What if the weather is bad?

If you are scheduled for an outdoor location session, we’ll reschedule your session as soon as we can at no extra cost to you or offer a private studio session instead.

What if one of us gets sick or we have to reschedule for some reason?

Life happens and we understand. We are happy to reschedule your session one time as long as we receive a 24 hour notice. If a second reschedule is required, you will forfeit your original session fee and a new session fee will be required for the new session date.
